Project Description

Whatcom Environmental conducted a Phase I ESA at a commercial property as part of the due diligence process for a company looking to purchase the property they were currently leasing. The Phase I ESA revealed that various petroleum related businesses had been historically located at the site which utilized one gasoline tank, four oil tanks, one gasoline pump, and one oil storage building.

A Phase II ESA was conducted at the property to evaluate the subsurface at the site. Soil borings were drilled and soil samples were collected for analysis. Soil sample results indicated that petroleum contamination was present in the soil at concentrations which exceeded applicable cleanup levels. Whatcom Environmental is currently working with the client to further evaluate the condition of the property.
